Show the details

So what makes an image of a church ceiling look so cool?  Most times it's the detail in the image.  So how did I edit this image?  It's not as difficult as you may think.

To give the image a bit more "punch", I increased the exposure (because I couldn't go any higher in a dark church using the available natural light).  Then I increased the black level and adjusted the contrast to add some impact to the image without loosing detail in the shadows.  Finally, I increased the clarity to enhance the midtone contrast, bringing out the fine details in the image.  A little sharpening and your done.

Check out my new eBook "Photoshop Elements 10 For First Time Users" to learn fast and easy editing tips so you can take your images to the next level.
